Who writes this guide
Spend Management Guide is written and edited by Yann Lephay, an independent publisher who builds software that turns complex tax and administrative procedures into simple, explicit workflows. He publishes eight independently branded US software guides, each covering one buying decision, under the same public method. The guides are built and maintained on his own time.
How the picks are made
Every ranking, verdict and “who should skip it” line is an editorial opinion, and the pages say so. Each opinion is argued from three kinds of published evidence:
- the vendor’s own pricing page, read and dated, for list prices and free plans;
- the vendor’s product documentation and help center, for what the product does;
- primary law and regulation, such as the US Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, IRS guidance and state statutes, for anything legal or tax-related.
No hands-on product test sits behind these pages, and none is implied. Crowd ratings and review-site scores are not used as evidence.
What a vendor cannot buy
Partner links are labeled where they appear. A commercial relationship never changes which products are covered, their order, their price as published or the verdict. The full rules are public in the Software Fit Standard.
Corrections
Send the page URL and a primary source through the contact page. A confirmed error is corrected on the page and its update date changes; a changed price is re-read on the vendor’s own pricing page before it is published.
