Prices are the entry list prices each vendor publishes on its own US pricing page, read on Oct 27, 2026. They exclude taxes, payment processing unless stated, hardware, add-ons and negotiated discounts; a promotion appears only in the notes, labeled as one. Prices change. No vendor paid for a place or a price in this table.

Verdict: Navan when travel drives your spending; Expensify when the job is collecting receipts and paying people back.

The two start from different ends. Navan is a travel booking platform with expense management attached: its Business plan books trips for free up to 300 employees, and its expense product is priced per active user. Expensify is an expense-report product priced per member, with a corporate card that discounts its higher plan. We read both companies' own pricing pages on October 28, 2026. Nothing here comes from a hands-on trial.

Why the verdict splits on travel

For a company whose people fly and stay in hotels every month, booking is where the money and the policy problems are: out-of-policy fares, unreported trips, receipts that never arrive. Navan puts booking and expensing in one place and charges nothing for the travel side below 300 employees, so the $15 per expense user buys the link between the trip and its costs.

For a company whose spending is meals, supplies, mileage and the occasional trip, that link matters less than getting twenty people to submit receipts cheaply. Expensify Collect does that for $5 a member, less than half Navan's price for the same twenty people.

When to look past both

If you mainly want company cards with built-in controls rather than reimbursements, a card-first platform may cost less than either; see three card-first spend platforms compared. If you are weighing travel and expense suites for a larger company, see travel and expense software.

The deciding number

Add up last year's travel spend and divide it by total employee spending. If travel is more than about a third, trial Navan with your next three trips. If it is less, trial Expensify Collect with one month of receipts.
